In an insane display of fashion design, Viktor & Rolf’s Haute Couture show took the runway to new heights.
Viktor & Rolf’s latest fashion show was a real head-scratcher, literally. At their Spring-Summer 2023 Haute Couture show they shock the world with their ridiculous design. The models walked the runway with their heads in the clouds and their dresses planted on the ground. It was an insane week during the Paris fashion week 2023.
It was a true display of inverted fashion, where the tulle princess gowns, and multi-tiered dresses were flipped in every direction. The sight was so ridiculous it left the audience wondering if they had too much to drink. It even raises a lot of question of why multiple luxury shoppers are leaving the U.K to Paris.
One model walked the runway with a fully upside-down dress, the hemline hiding her face and her legs coming out from the neckline. Another one walks with her dress attached at the hip. And this gave a new meaning to the term “attached at the hip.”

The show was a true test of gravity, with each garment staying in place only through the power of dark magic. Because of that, Images from the show quickly blew up on social media, with most people calling it “absurd” and “insane” (in the best way). “Couture shows are meant to be over the top, fun, and completely unrealistic. But that’s because they cannot be worn for everyday use. but instead, Viktor and Rolf absolutely nailed this,” one person posted on Twitter.
Viktor & Rolf’s futuristic fashion label, helmed by Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, is known for having playful, innovative shows. The show usually features over-the-top silhouettes and high-concept stories, with a touch of dark humor. And a good example of that would be their Autumn-Winter haute couture collection. The collection had two versions of each look: one for the living and one for the dead.
In the last season, they combine ultra-high necklines and shoulders that seemed to swallow the models’ necks. But now in this season, their heads. Let’s not forget about the front attendee of the Spring-Summer 2023 show. specifically, Doja Cat. She continues on her ridiculous streak in a pinstripe brown suit, with blue sunglasses and fake eyelashes to use as eyebrows, a mustache, and a goatee.
